FAQs

What is Skilled Home Health Care?
Skilled Home Health Care follows a specific plan of care under the supervision of a Physician, Nurse, or Therapist, and involves home healthcare services such as nursing care; physical, occupational, speech therapies; as well as social services and nursing assistants. The goal of home health care is to treat an illness or injury. Home health care helps you get better, regain your independence, and become as self-sufficient as possible. Skilled Home Health is short-term health care services that can be provided to patients if they are homebound. Services must be provided by a nurse or therapist, you can also have medical social work or aide services.

What to expect with Home Health Care?
Your Doctor has to order Home Health Care. We will call and set up an appointment to come to your home and talk to you about what your needs are, and will ask questions about your health. We will also do an assessment to establish a baseline of your current condition and together set goals for you to reach with therapy and nursing. We will also talk to your doctor about your progress.

How do I pay for Skilled Home Health Care?
Most insurance plans have home health benefits. Each plan is different, and you would need to contact your provider to find out about deductibles, copays, and co-insurances. If you have traditional Medicare, you have no copay or deductible. There is no out of pocket cost for skilled home health care. Medicaid patients have to have prior authorizations, and this would need to be established prior to the first visit.

What is Continuity of Care?
Continuity of care is when you have the same clinician come for your home visits. Some companies have a revolving door of clinicians and you never know who is coming for your visits. Caring Angels Home Health strives to have continuity of care for each patient.

How long is the wait time?
Once your doctor gives us a complete order for skilled home health care, we will arrange a visit with you within 24-48 hours.
